Asking the Bridesmaids

I finally asked all of my bridesmaids to be a part of my special day.  My 4 friends, Tiff, Cara, Lea and Kiriam will be bridesmaids, FI's little sister Madison and my little cousin Jessie will be Jr. bridesmaids, and a girl I used to babysit, Ana, will be my flower girl.
I gave them each a box full of goodies and a poem asking them to be in the wedding (different for each girl).  Lea's mom and Ana's mom cried!  I guess that means they were a hit!  Each girl got a ring pop, a flower pot that I painted in their favorite colors, a pack of daisy seeds, bath salts (bubble bath for Ana), a pin that says Team Bride from zazzle.com, cookies in the shapes of a dress, double hearts and a ring, a list of all the other girls names numbers and emails (including my mom and future mother in law) a bracelet and a candle for the older girls, a nail art kit for the juniors, and a play wedding veil for Ana.

I didn't get a picture of the list of names for obvious reasons, but it was so cute! And also, I found a "cousin" poem for Jessie, and a Flower Girl poem that was unbelievably sweet! It started out as "When I was just a little girl, about the size of you, I dreamed one day that I'd grow up and than get married too!"  It's probably in one of the links!  Have fun with your Bridesmaid gift bags or boxes!  The girls loved them!  Totally worth it!

Getting married

On October 17th, 2010, my wonderful boyfriend David finally proposed.  He sent me on a scavenger hunt to different parks and pretty places.  We went on a picnic, and he proposed by a lake.  It was absolutely perfect.  But this in't about the proposal (as magical as it was).  This is about my wedding plans.

I have been planning my wedding since i was 2...probably.  I used to want a yellow and green wedding with daisies and yellow roses.  Then, about two years ago, I changed it to green, brown and white with calla lilies.  Here's the problem: The only flowers I like are daisies.  Why would I have roses or calla lilies?  I'm incredibly girly, despite my dislike for most flowers.  So why green, brown and white?  I wanted something simple, outside by a lake, in the early fall.  I don't want a big princess dress because that would be extremely inconvenient for dancing and for an outside wedding.  I looove Essence of Australia and I really want a dress from this designer.

We're currently considering  a small wedding in the Bahamas.  Just family and close friends- 50 guests.  If we do it there, I want a vintage beach theme.  Otherwise, it will be in Pennsylvania, hopefully on a farm or something of the sort.  Now, who wants green and brown when you can have Cherry Red, Salmon Pink, Sky Blue and Medium Gray?  Exactly.  No one.

Remember my hatred for flowers (except daisies, of course)?  I'm thinking pinwheels instead of bouquets for me and my girls.  Yes, pinwheels.  And maybe candy centerpieces?  I'm not talking Jordan Almonds and After Dinner Mints.  Think Giant Swirly Lollipops and Candy Sticks.  Sounds fabulous to me.

But I still want simple.  Can I have simple and fun?  Lets see if I can pull this off...
